Nathan L. Putney

Associate

Nathan Putney is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Group, working out of the Clark Hill San Francisco office.  He is experienced in all phases of litigation, case intake through post-trial, in state, federal, and appellate courts. Previously a full-time litigation paralegal for the firm, he has several years of experience handling the defense of matters in multiple practice areas, including general tort liability, products liability, public entity and agency liability, OSHA and ADA, asbestos, automotive lemon law, and construction defect. 

Nathan earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law while working full-time at Clark Hill.  While in law school, he was named to the Dean’s List for all eligible semesters, and was the recipient of several notable awards including the CALI Awards for academic excellence in Civil Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution, a Witkin Award for Practical Legal Writing, and the 2018 Award for Academic Excellence in Litigation.  Nathan was also selected for the University’s Competition Mock Trial program, and with his teams took first place in the 2017 San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association’s Annual Competition and sixth place overall in the 2017 American Bar Association’s National Criminal Justice Trial Competition.

In his spare time, Nathan enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and exploring Northern California with his wife and young sons.  He is conversational in Spanish at an intermediate level.
