Monica S. Walaan


Monica S. Walaan practices in the Litigation Group in Clark Hill’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. Monica represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters in Pennsylvania and West Virginia at the state and federal levels. Monica’s practice involves a diverse array of legal issues including commercial and contractual disputes, construction matters, products liability, mineral right disputes, and premises liability.

Monica earned her law degree from Duquesne University School of Law. Most notably, Monica was a member of Duquesne’s nationally recognized trial team. She competed in and was a regional semifinalist in the 2013 American Association of Justice (AAJ) National Student Trial Advocacy Competition. In 2012, Monica attended Duquesne’s International Summer Study of Law Program in Ireland.

Prior to attending law school, Monica completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh graduating cum laude. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology. Monica also received a Global Studies Certificate concentrating in the field of Conflict & Conflict Resolution with a focus in Middle Eastern studies. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Monica embarked on a Semester at Sea, where she circumnavigated the world by ship studying at sea and in Spain, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong & China, Japan, and Guatemala.
