Business Unit Associate Director
LaTonya Ellis, Business Unit Associate Director in Real Estate and Labor & Employment, is a licensed attorney and lean six sigma black belt. She provides support to the Business Unit Director in the daily operations of the Real Estate and Labor & Employment business units, and works with attorneys and support staff to develop and implement strategic planning that focuses on business development, recruiting and growth/profitability.
Prior to joining Clark Hill PLC, LaTonya served as Director/Counsel at Ginsberg Jacobs LLC. As Counsel, LaTonya represented wireless carriers and infrastructure providers in matters of leasing, zoning and land use. She drafted, reviewed and negotiated commercial agreements including leases, subleases, amendments and management agreements. She also worked closely with In-House Legal/General Counsel to assist legal departments in developing best practices and standardized templates.
As Director, LaTonya was responsible for developing operating strategies for implementing, supporting and enforcing the use of business solutions that address the Firm’s business needs within each practice area (Commercial Real Estate, Telecommunications, Litigation, Taxation, Estates & Trusts, Finance and Corporate) including providing executive leadership, support and oversight in new business, marketing and development. LaTonya also developed initiatives to create efficiencies, synergies and best practices with existing clients; developed and created a lean operating organization; created alternative flat fee/fixed strategic pricing/partnership arrangements; and implemented diversity and succession planning initiatives within the firm.
LaTonya has also served in various leadership roles at Verizon Wireless with the responsibility for driving and implementing process improvements within her corporate organization to attain competitive levels of quality and innovation. Within her tenure at Verizon, LaTonya created and implemented standardized scopes of work, policy initiatives, and pricing for network real estate transactional matters. She also worked to promote compliance of diversity initiatives and standards for network real estate vendors and outside legal firms.
