Kevin M. Washburn is an experienced transactional attorney who focuses his practice on continually surpassing client expectations in matters including corporate structure and governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general commercial and real estate transactions.
Kevin has significant industry-agnostic transactional experience representing both buyers and sellers in a variety of transactions, including membership interest, stock, and asset transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. He leads his clients through the entire transactional process and advises on the multitude of legal issues as the arise along the way.
In addition to his transactional experience, Kevin has extensive experience serving as outside general counsel to companies in a variety of industries, handling a broad array of business matters including business formations, drafting and negotiation of operating, shareholder and buy-sell agreements, drafting company policies and procedures, and advising on succession planning, for clients ranging from small private companies to publicly traded entities.

Kevin’s real estate practice involves representation of buyers, sellers, developers, investors, and lenders in a variety of sophisticated transactions. He has served as lead counsel on multiple acquisitions, dispositions, and rehab/restoration and development projects in downtown Detroit, throughout Michigan, and in many other states across the country. Additionally, he has significant commercial leasing experience in settings ranging from standalone single tenant buildings to shopping malls and mixed-use properties.
