Jakob Williams advocates for public and private sector employers facing employment litigation and counsels employers on regulatory compliance and best practices.

Jakob represents employers facing wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and other state and federal employment claims. He has also represented employers as both plaintiffs and defendants in restrictive covenant actions.

A large part of Jakob’s practice covers advising employers on compliance issues, workplace best practices, employment policies, workplace training, and diversity and equity initiatives. This type of anticipatory practice helps his clients improve company culture, and improve compliance practices so they do not find themselves scrambling to remediate after the fact.

In addition to a focused Labor and Employment practice, Jakob has recently grown his experience in serving the consumer financial services sector. This has included assisting clients responding to federal civil investigative demands, responding to state financial regulator examinations, development and review of compliance policies under the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and state analogues, and counseling regulated entities on lending licensure. Jakob’s employment counseling skills are valuable in this sector for helping develop policies which are compliant, coherent, effective, and implementable across all levels of operations. In addition, his litigation skills are helpful in managing efficient responses to government inquiries.

Jakob also has experience working in high-stakes commercial litigation and investigations. These have included large antitrust actions, multidistrict litigation, and administrative agency investigations.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Jakob worked as a fellow at the City of Philadelphia Law Department where he represented the City in litigation and provided legal guidance to other City departments.
