Ashly A. McCants


Ashly A. McCants handles breach response and other sensitive matters arising from the misuse of data. She counsels clients regarding legal and regulatory responsibilities as well as necessary responses to data security incidents including mitigation, remediation, and resolution efforts. Ashly constantly monitors evolving cybersecurity and data privacy trends to ensure clients’ risk guidelines are effective and up to date.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Ashly worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights, where she investigated and resolved complaints alleging violations of the Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by obtaining voluntary compliance, corrective action and/or a resolution agreement. Ashly leverages her insight to help clients become compliant before a regulator arrives. Ashly’s experience with HHS also enables her to assist clients through the difficult breach response process while minimizing impact.

Ashly is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. (CIPP/US).
