Andrea D. Bland


Andrea D. Bland takes a practical approach to advising clients on data protection, privacy information security, and other regulatory matters. She understands the importance of providing rapid, practical, value added counsel that aligns with clients’ business objectives.

As threat actors become more prolific, clients need guidance on how to navigate this everchanging landscape. Andrea is extremely knowledgeable and always solution driven not just about the what law requires but also what the client needs to strengthen their resiliency.

When clients experience a data breach, Andrea is available 24/7 to effectively respond to the incident, including coordinating forensic experts and insurance professionals, preparing consumer and regulatory notification communications, and responding to enforcement actions. Her knowledge and understanding of the intricate legal requirements ensure she can identify the best technical experts to assist a client.

Andrea has significant experience in healthcare. She served as a Senior Consultant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where she supported the HHS Office of the Secretary privacy compliance program and drafted the HHS Preparedness Report in response to the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015. Andrea also led the agency’s data security initiative HHS OS Data Guardian Program.

Andrea participated in Lawyers Without Borders in Nairobi, Kenya giving her insights and new perspectives from organizations operating in other legal systems that allow her to better serve her current clients.

Andrea is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
