Veteran Health Care Attorney Gerald ‘”Jud” DeLoss Joins Clark Hill Chicago
CHICAGO, IL – Gerald “Jud” DeLoss has joined Clark Hill PLC as a Member in the firm’s Health Care practice group. He focuses on the representation of behavioral healthcare providers (SUD and Mental Health), hospitals, medical groups, federally qualified health centers, trade associations, health information exchanges, EHR vendors, and research organizations. His practice areas include health information privacy, HIPAA, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, reimbursement (Medicare/Medicaid/private insurers), contracting, and credentialing/privileging. He has represented multiple clients on Meaningful Use (“MU”) audits and appeals, to prevent recoupment of MU incentives.

In his leadership capacity with the American Health Lawyers Association ("AHLA"), currently as Chair of the AHLA Behavioral Health Task Force, and previously as Chair of the Health Information and Technology Practice Group, DeLoss has authored and presented on a wide variety of health law issues, both nationally and internationally, including numerous articles and presentations on health information privacy and security, and other healthcare compliance requirements.
DeLoss is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Health Information Exchange ("ILHIE") and also serves on the ILHIE Authority Data Security and Privacy Committee. He serves on the Advisory Board for Thompson’s Healthcare Compliance Expert, a national online resource on health privacy and regulatory issues.
