CHICAGO, IL – Clark Hill attorney Scott N. Schreiber was recently reelected as a member of the Board of Trustees and National Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund (JNF). Scott is also a member of its Makor Speakers Bureau, a member of JNF’s Budget and Finance Committee, and Vice President of Missions.
Jewish National Fund is a non-profit organization founded in 1901. It all started with a dream. Theodor Herzl, a Viennese journalist, witnessed virulent anti-Semitism at the Dreyfus trial. He knew it was time to take action, and was determined that before the Fifth Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland came to an end, a national fund would be established to purchase land for a Jewish State in Ottoman-controlled Palestine.
Schreiber is a member of the Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice group and is a bankruptcy leader in the firm’s Chicago office. Schreiber has served as lead counsel to business debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees and equity holders in a wide range of bankruptcy matters, including domestic and international bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, and out-of-court workouts.
