– Clark Hill PLC is proud to announce that Robert L. Schwartz has joined the firm’s Education and Municipal Law practice group in the Birmingham, Michigan office.
Schwartz’s principal areas of practice include public and corporate finance and securities, including bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel and (in private bond and conventional corporate financing transactions) borrower’s and bank’s counsel. He is recognized as one of the leading public finance attorneys in the State of Michigan, and has been involved in public finance transactions for over 30 years. He is also recognized as an expert with respect to federal tax aspects of municipal bonds. His clients have included a variety of Michigan municipalities and authorities, State agencies, investment banks, banks, and bond insurers in both public and private activity financings. In public finance, he has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America and to the SuperLawyers by his peers, and is well-known and respected by all of the major participants in Michigan public finance transactions.
Schwartz received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University in 1969, his J.D.,
cum laude
, from Wayne State University School of Law in 1972, and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law in 1973.
