Patrick Taurel to Moderate Session at the American Immigration Lawyers Association Washington DC Chapter Annual Conference
Clark Hill attorney Patrick Taurel will be moderating a discussion entitled "District Court Litigation 101" at the American Immigration Lawyers Association Washington DC Chapter’s Annual Conference. The conference will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 8:45 a.m. to 5:10 p.m. at the University of Maryland.
His fellow panelists include:

- Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, Legal Director, Immigrant Advocacy Program, Legal Aid Justice Center;
- Elizabeth J. Stevens, Assistant Director, Office of Immigration Litigation – District Court Section, United States Department of Justice.
The session will provide an overview of district court litigation for immigration practitioners. The panelists will cover threshold matters like exhaustion of administrative remedies, standing, and jurisdiction; explore causes of action commonly invoked by immigration practitioners including claims under the Administrative Procedure Act, the Mandamus Act, and the Federal Tort Claims Act; and address post-filing activity including negotiating with government counsel, responding to motions to dismiss, and filing motions for summary judgment.
