Nuts & Bolts Collections Part II: Next Steps in Assisting Pro Bono Clients with Collections Matters
Josh Wu will be presenting the webinar Nuts & Bolts Collections Part II: Next Steps in Assisting Pro Bono Clients with Collections Matters on June 13, 2018 for the ABA Section of Taxation.
This panel follows the Nuts & Bolts Collections Workshop Part I (available for free download here). Like the first webinar, this session is designed as a practical training for pro bono attorneys who have minimal experience representing low-income taxpayers in collection cases. This workshop will pick up where the last webinar left off. Now you have a low-income taxpayer in need of assistance in front of you. Where do you begin? Attorneys participating in the Section’s pro bono programs are encouraged to participate. Seasoned practitioners in low-income controversy representation will guide participants through the following topics:
• First steps in working with a low-income client with a collections issue
• The mechanics of representation
• Ordering and reviewing transcripts
