Nationally Renowned Energy Adviser Rod E. Williamson Joins Clark Hill PLC as New Director of Energy Strategy

DETROIT, MI – Prominent energy adviser Rod E. Williamson has joined Clark Hill PLC as its new Director of Energy Strategy, announced Clark Hill’s Environment, Energy and Natural Resources (“EENR”) Practice Group Director, Nick Ford.

The Firm’s newly created position is designed to support Clark Hill’s Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Practice Group. Williamson will be responsible for coordinating and directing Clark Hill’s implementation of its strategic planning and business development activities focusing on large industrial and institutional energy-users. Additionally, Williamson will provide expert, unbiased energy management consulting for large electric and natural gas customers.

“Rod has successfully negotiated complex natural gas and electricity supply contracts, structured natural gas and electricity supply transactions in deregulated markets, administered energy conservation projects, implemented demand response programs, and developed energy risk management programs,” said Ken von Schaumburg, Chair of Clark Hill’s Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Practice Group. “Rod brings with him fifteen years of extraordinary experience as an energy user strategist for large industrial companies.   He is a tremendous asset and very welcome addition to our growing energy consuming client representation.  Rod is the perfect fit to lead Clark Hill’s focused initiative to expand our energy services nationwide.”

Rod previously served as the Chairman of the Michigan Association of Businesses Advocating for Tariff Equity (“ABATE”), providing strategic direction and energy expertise for this group consisting of the largest industrial energy consumers in the state of Michigan. Rod has served as the Executive Director of ABATE and will continue in that role with Clark Hill.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Rod held the position of Global Energy Category Manager for Dow Corning Corporation where he was responsible for setting energy supply strategy and implementing a global energy category management process.  Rod led a team of local energy category managers in Europe, Asia, and Brazil and had direct responsibility for establishing business relationships with energy suppliers as well as government and regulatory agencies.
