Four Clark Hill Attorneys Named in Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine Top 100

DETROIT, MI – Four attorneys in the Michigan offices of Clark Hill PLC have been selected as Top 100 Attorneys in the state of Michigan by Law & Politics Magazine’s Super Lawyers publication. The attorneys include Daniel Bretz in the area of Labor and Employment, William Dunn in the area of Real Estate Law, John Gierak in the area of Labor and Employment, and Daniel Minkus in the area of Business and Corporate Law.
“Super Lawyers,” published by Law & Politics magazine, is a consumer guide to outstanding attorneys based on a multi-step selection process including a survey and peer review.
Daniel Bretz is a member in the firm’s Detroit office. Prior to joining Clark Hill, Bretz was a founding partner of Brady Hathaway Brady and Bretz P.C. Bretz practices in the areas of employment law and litigation, traditional labor work, and business litigation. He represents a number of national clients with a particular focus on employers in the health care, transportation and construction industries. He has served as first chair in trials involving discrimination, harassment, contract and labor issues. In addition to Super Lawyers, Bretz is listed among the Chambers USA List of Leading Attorneys and The Best Lawyers in America. Bretz earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from Wayne State University.
William Dunn is a member in the firm’s Detroit office. Dunn has been practicing in the area of real estate law for more than 40 years. He is a member in the firm’s Detroit office, where he specializes in real property, secured transactions and related business practice, as well as legal ethics. Dunn works extensively in lending, workouts, leasing, acquisitions and sales as well as development activities, and represents a range of public and private clients. He is a frequent lecturer at national, regional and statewide programs and author on real estate transactions and on legal ethics. Dunn holds many professional distinctions, and in addition to the Super Lawyers designation, Dunn has been repeatedly named to the Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA List of Leading Attorneys, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Law, Who’s Who in the World, Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Real Estate Lawyers and the International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers. John Gierak is a member in the firm’s Birmingham office. He is the chair of Clark Hill’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, and focuses his practice in the areas of labor and employment law, education law, and litigation. Gierak represents public and private employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including contract negotiations, and acts as general counsel to public school districts. Gierak earned his A.B. from Harvard University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Daniel Minkus is a member in the firm’s Birmingham office. Minkus concentrates in the areas of business counseling, transactional counseling, limited liability companies, minority business enterprises, and contracts. Minkus is very active in civic affairs and the community. He is currently serving in his nineteenth year on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Humane Society (Chairman 1989 –1998); he is the former State Sports Director for Soccer for Michigan Special Olympics; he is a past member of the Board of Directors of Leadership Oakland (President 1998-1999), an organization which fosters community leadership and involvement; and he has served as a member of volunteer committees for United Way Community Services in Detroit. In addition to the Super Lawyers designation, Minkus has been named in Chambers USA List of Leading Attorneys, and the Best Lawyers in America. Minkus earned his B.A. from Kalamazoo College and his J.D., cum laude, from the Wayne State University Law School.
