Clark Hill PLC Joins Grand Rapids Bar Association and 12 West Michigan Law Firms in Managing Partners Diversity Collaborative Signing
Grand Rapids, Michigan
– Clark Hill PLC was one of 13 West Michigan Law firms to participate in the signing of the Managing Partners Diversity Collaborative on March 22 at the University Club in Downtown Grand Rapids. The program was developed in conjunction with the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Ingrid Jensen, Managing Member of Clark Hill West Michigan, led the effort on behalf of the firm.
“I am proud to be one of the firms in Grand Rapids in the Collaborative,” said Jensen. “Our group is energized and ready to get to work on the Action Plan.”
The collaborative was formed in 2011 after a series of discussions on how law firms in West Michigan could promote and improve diversity and inclusion. The plan establishes three committees focused on pipeline development, recruitment and retention. All firms have committed participation and fulfillment of the program.
“We have an aggressive but manageable action plan that promises to achieve our goals,” said Jensen.
Actions include developing a mentorship program for high school and college students to encourage students to consider the law as a career; strategies for increasing the number of female attorneys and attorneys of color leadership positions; and developing an annual conference that focuses on business development and leadership development for female attorneys and attorney of color.
