Clark Hill PLC Immigration and Health Care Attorneys Present “Life After Training: Options For J-1 And H-1B Physicians” November 14 in Troy
WASHINGTON, DC
– Clark Hill Immigration Attorneys Roberta Freedman, Michelle Funk and Mike Nowlan, along with Clark Hill Health Care Attorney Greg Moore, will be presenting “Life After Training: Options for J-1 and H-1B Physicians,” on Saturday, November 14 at the Troy Marriott in Troy, Michigan from 1-4:00 p.m.
The seminar will cover all aspects of the visa and permanent residence process for physicians in the United States completing a residency or fellowship training on a J-1 or H-1B visa.
There is no charge to attend, and all presenters will be available for a question and answer period immediately following the presentation.

Roberta Freedman
is a member in Clark Hill’s Washington, D.C. office, and co-chairs the Immigration Practice Group. She concentrates her practice in the area of immigration and nationality law. Roberta has more than 25 years of experience in representing clients, including physicians, health care providers, business professionals, outstanding professors and researchers, and Fortune 500 corporations. She has been selected by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) to lead high-profile joint CIS-private sector projects.
Roberta is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is the past Chair of the Washington, D.C. Chapter and past Director of the Board of Governors and has been appointed to serve and chair on a number of AILA national committees. She is a former member of the Coordinating Committee on Immigration Law of the American Bar Association.
Mike Nowlan
is the Co-Leader of Clark Hill’s Immigration Practice Group. His immigration practice includes representation of Fortune 100 and 500 companies, scientists and engineers, religious institutions, business executives and entrepreneurs, computer and business personnel, and other professionals and their families as they plan for U.S. entry. Mr. Nowlan’s expertise also includes in depth knowledge of all business and family immigration, nonimmigrant visas, as well as the permanent residence and naturalization processes. He continues to be an advocate for immigrant rights before immigration officials on a regional and national level and within Immigration Court as a trial attorney.
Greg Moore
heads up Clark Hill’s Health Care initiative and is also a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. He has focused his entire career on representing health care providers and routinely handles matters before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies. In addition, Gregory provides daily counsel to health care providers ranging in size from the sole physician office to some of the largest physician practice groups and hospital systems in the United States. He also has extensive experience with immigration law as it applies to the health care industry.
Gregory was named one of Indiana’s Super Lawyers for Employment Law for 2003 & 2004. In Michigan, the same honor was bestowed upon him in 2007 and 2008 after practicing here for three short years. Gregory was also named to Indiana’s List of Who’s Who Behind the Scenes in Health Care in 2004.
Michelle Funk
is an associate in Clark Hill’s Immigration Practice Group and concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law with a focus on H—1B visas, PERM applications, and J-1 interested government agency waivers. She has represented clients at United States Embassies abroad and before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and she has specific experience with security clearances and nonimmigrant visa applications.
Michelle is a 2001 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and a magna cum laude graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She is fluent in Spanish.
