Clark Hill Member Joann Needleman Quoted in Philadelphia Business Journal, “CFPB leadership squabble has finserv companies asking: Now what?” November 2017

November 28, 2017

Philadelphia, PA – Joann Needleman, Leader of Clark Hill’s Consumer Financial Services Regulatory & Compliance Practice Group, was quoted by the Philadelphia Business Journal in an article relating to the resignation of Richard Cordray, former Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and who now has the power to appoint his successor, Cordray or President Trump.

Needleman respectfully stated, “I was disappointed that he used this political stunt to create a succession plan.  There could have been a well-reasoned way to transition but this wasn’t it. I think the Bureau has lost credibility because of this. Whether you like this president or not, he has the right to appoint leaders of agencies within the executive branch. It’s the same as if the secretary of state resigned.” For more information, click here.
