Clark Hill Continues to Grow Nationally With the Addition of Twelve Attorneys

Detroit, MI – Clark Hill continues to grow nationally with the addition of 12 associate and staff attorneys on September 8, 2014. Many were a part of Clark Hill’s 10 week 2013 Summer Associate Program where they worked on assignments and had client contact prior to their last year of law school. 

Jeremy D. Bowen is a member of Clark Hill’s Health Care Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on providing legal services to the health care industry. Jeremy handles both transactional and litigation matters. His emphasis is on compliance and enforcement issues such as federal and state fraud and abuse laws, bioethics, HIPAA, FDA and FTC regulations. He also negotiates and drafts various agreements, including business and employment agreements for business owners, executive boards, hospitals, health care providers, independent contractors, business associates, and other health care clients. 

Bryan A. Brown has joined the Commercial Real Estate and Public Finance Practice Group as an Associate in the Pittsburgh office. His practice focuses on representing lenders and borrowers in an array of secured and unsecured financing transactions. During law school, Brown interned at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission in New York, where he assisted with the investigation and prosecution of securities fraud. 

Melissa M. Card has joined the Litigation Practice Group as an Associate in the Detroit office. Card graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2014 with a certification in Health Law and Bioethics. During law school, Card received the Best Oral Argument Award and was on the Dean’s List for her academic achievements. Card was a member of the Minnesota Law Review ("MLR") during her second year and was a Head Managing Editor of MLR during her third year. 

Daniel L. Eyer has joined the Education and Municipal Law Practice Group as an Associate in the Birmingham, MI office. Eyer graduated summa cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law, where he was a King Scholar and a member of the Michigan State Law Review. At Michigan State, Eyer won several jurisprudence awards for excellence in the study of Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, and Bankruptcy Law. 

Hugo A. Gallegos has joined the Corporate Practice Group as an Associate in the Detroit office. Hugo graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, earning a certificate in tax law. While in law school, Gallegos served as a law clerk for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office in the Consumer Fraud Division and for the United States District Court Northern District of Illinois, in Chicago. He also was Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Consumer Law Review. 

Kathryn R. Hester has joined the Litigation Practice Group as an Associate in the Philadelphia office. She represents businesses and individuals in commercial litigation matters. Hester earned her J.D. at Villanova University School of Law where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and recipient of the David W. Addy Memorial Scholarship. 

Steven J. Kustra has joined the Litigation Practice Group as an Associate in the Detroit office. Kustra earned both a Canadian and American law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, as part of their Canadian/American Dual J.D. program. While in law school, Kustra worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Edward A. Servitto, Judge of the Macomb County Circuit Court, and in the University of Detroit Mercy’s Veterans Law Clinic 

Courtney R. Mathews has joined the Health Care Practice Group as an Associate in the Chicago office. Mathews graduated cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois where she focused her coursework on health care law and business law, earning a business law certificate. While in law school, Mathews was the recipient of two CALI awards for receiving the highest grades in Health Care Fraud and Abuse and Transactional Legal Drafting. Mathews was an Editor of Articles, Notes and Comments of Volume 63 of the DePaul Law Review and was actively involved in DePaul Health Law Institute 

Monica S. Moussa has joined the Litigation Practice Group as a Staff Attorney in the Pittsburgh office. Moussa focuses on insurance defense legal issues for clients. She has experience preparing memorandums on assigned legal issues including application of relevant case law and corresponding legal analysis as well as case summaries and analysis of applicable legal issues for insurers. Moussa also drafts legal pleadings including answers and motions for summary judgment and prepares responses and corresponding documents to discovery requests. 

J. Ramy Nubani has joined the Corporate Practice Group as an Associate in the Pittsburgh office. He represents individuals and businesses in a variety of corporate matters. Nubani counsels clients in matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance. Additionally, Nubani practices in the firm’s Real Estate Development group, assisting clients purchasing, investing in, developing and disposing of real estate related assets. 

Jillian B. Steinberg has joined the Litigation Practice Group as an Associate in the Chicago office. She focuses on various areas of litigation, including commercial litigation and employment litigation. Steinberg graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2014. During law school, Steinberg received the Sidney DeLove Scholarship Award and was on the Dean’s List for her academic achievements. 

Brett E. Vasicek has joined the Real Estate Practice Group as an Associate in the Detroit office. Vasicek graduated magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where he attended as a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. While in law school, Vasicek served as a class representative to the Student Bar Association for three years and was an active member of UDM Law’s Moot Court Board of Advocates for two years, serving as the Associate Director of Internal Competitions his final year.
