– Clark Hill attorneys Mary C. Downie and MacKenzie A. Hyde co-authored a chapter in the 2012 edition of “Retirement Benefits Issues in Estate Planning,” published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
Downie and Hyde discuss how to create a Roth IRA, the advantages and disadvantages of a Roth IRA compared with a traditional IRA, converting various retirement assets to a Roth IRA and the tax implications and distributions requirements related to the same, and estate planning strategies utilizing Roth IRAs in the chapter. Hyde concentrates in contested guardianships and estates, as well as fiduciary litigation and estate administration. Hyde represents individuals, medical institutions and financial institutions in all areas of her practice. Hyde is frequently appointed by the Probate Court to serve as Guardian Ad Litem in guardianship cases.
