Clark Hill Chicago and City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations to Host On the Table 2015 Event Focused on LGBTQ Youth Homelessness – What More Can Be Done?

CHICAGO, IL – Clark Hill attorneys Ray J. Koenig III, Sherry Lowe Johnson and Leslie Gutierrez will host a dinner in conjunction with On the Table on May 12, 2015.  The dinner, co-hosted with the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations, will focus on LGBTQ Youth Homelessness in the Clark Hill Chicago office.  The guests at the dinner will include LGBTQ teens and Commission on Human Relations leadership, with the focus of the group discussion being ending LGBTQ homelessness.

About On the Table

May 12, 2015 is the 100th anniversary of The Chicago Community Trust. To kick off the Centennial year, thousands of Chicago-area residents were invited to participate in On the Table. Thousands of people who care about the region will participate in thought-provoking mealtime conversations to discuss the ways in which anyone can commit to making the communities stronger, safer and more dynamic.

Koenig is the Managing Member of Clark Hill’s Chicago office and a member in Clark Hill’s Litigation Practice Group. He practices in the areas of probate litigation, trust litigation, fiduciary litigation, elder law, estate planning, and estate administration, with an emphasis on will, trust, guardianship, and advance directive contests and other fiduciary litigation. Koenig has represented individuals, families, financial institutions, medical institutions, and governmental organizations in all areas of his practice. Koenig has extensive trial, appellate and mediation experience in state and federal courts.

Lowe Johnson has over 20 years of experience in representing financial institutions, equipment leasing companies, and corporations in commercial matters in state, federal and bankruptcy courts. She specializes in complex litigation, including lender liability claims, fraud claims, programmatic failures, factoring agreements, and commercial contract disputes. She handles all aspects of bankruptcy from the creditor's perspective, including Chapter 11 plan treatment of creditors’ claims, lien priority and competing secured creditors' issues, fraudulent transfers and avoidance claims, critical vendors' claims, and liquidation processes. Lowe Johnson strategizes with clients to achieve profitable results in workout and debt restructuring transactions when amicable resolutions are viable options to turnaround credit relationships.

Gutierrez is an associate with the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office. She has experience in handling a wide variety of legal issues, including contract disputes, common law fraud claims, securities fraud, criminal defense, contested guardianships, foreclosure defense, zoning board appeals, e-discovery disputes, products liability defense, breach of fiduciary duty claims and class action defense. Her areas of emphasis include commercial litigation, business torts, real estate disputes and estate litigation and administration.
