Clark Hill attorneys Jonathan W. Hugg, Sotiris “Ted” Planzos and James E. Tyrrell, III will present at The Legal Intelligencer’s In-House Counsel CLE on October 22, 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They will speak on “Politics, Professional Responsibility & Prison: How Lawyers Can Counsel Their Corporate Clients To Influence Government Officials And Participate Safely In The Political Process.”
Hugg is a member of the firm’s Commercial and Corporate Litigation practice group. He concentrates his practice on commercial and appellate litigation, with an emphasis on financial institution, regulatory enforcement, municipal, and lender liability matters. He regularly litigates cases involving issues of critical legal importance to financial institutions, including check fraud, check warranties, letters of credit, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB), disputes arising under Articles 3, 4, 4A and 5 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and priority disputes regarding security interests under Article 9.
Planzos is in the firm’s Political Law, Cybersecurity, Data Protection & Privacy, and Litigation practice groups. He assists clients with white-collar matters involving criminal and civil securities enforcement, complex financial fraud, money laundering, grand jury and congressional inquiries, parallel proceedings, criminal and civil RICO, corporate compliance and trial practice. He also counsels corporations and individuals in compliance matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley, the USA PATRIOT Act, and conducts internal investigations.
Tyrrell practices in the Political Law, Government & Public Affairs, and Litigation practice groups where he provides political law compliance advice to political and corporate clients. He counsels candidates, PACs, Super PACs, state and national party committees, corporations and trade associations on federal and state campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, pay to play, and government ethics laws. Tyrrell regularly defends and assists clients in enforcement proceedings before the Federal Election Commission and various state agencies and courts.
