Clark Hill Attorneys Deanna M. Deldin and Emily J. Baldwin to Present at Minerva Education and Development Foundation Seminar March 25, 2017

Detroit, MI – Clark Hill attorneys Deanna M. Deldin and Emily J. Baldwin will present at the Minerva Education and Development Foundation (MDEF) seminar titled “Want to Make A Difference: The Business of Serving: How to Start and Maintain a 501(c)(3) Organization” on March 25, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan. Deldin and Baldwin will discuss “Good Governance for Non Profit Organizations” covering the do’s and don’ts of compliance, how to select board members, and employees vs. volunteers.

Deldin is a Senior Attorney with the Corporate Practice Group of Clark Hill’s Detroit office.  Deanna focuses her practice on tax exempt organizations.    Deanna works with tax exempt organizations to provide a variety of services, including incorporation, tax-exempt qualification and ongoing governance issues relating to nonprofit organizations, and advice regarding Internal Revenue Service, Attorney General and other regulatory authority oversight and compliance. Deanna has worked with and advised a variety of tax-exempt clients, including cultural institutions such as libraries and museums, governmental entities, public charities, private foundations, community development corporations and other social, civic and religious groups.

Baldwin is an Associate in Clark Hill’s Detroit Office where she counsels tax exempt organizations on all stages of business matters, including incorporation, tax-exempt qualification, and compliance with the rules and regulations governing exemption. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Emily worked in Public Affairs, where she provided strategic communications planning and expertise to non-profit organizations and Government agencies including Goodwill Industries of South Carolina, the Department of the Navy, the Department of the Army, and the Department of Labor.
