Detroit, MI – Clark Hill attorneys David M. Cessante and Carly E. Osadetz will present a webinar entitled “Managing Leaves of Absence” for the Michigan Chamber on October 25, 2016.

The FMLA continues to be one of the most difficult employment laws for employers to manage in their workplace. The law is complex and often disruptive to business operations.  However, it gives employees a substantial number of benefits and protections, regardless of the impact on the employer. In this 60-minute webinar, Cessante and Osadetz will explore practical solutions for dealing with an employer’s growing obligations for managing medical leaves of absence including the interplay between FMLA, ADA and Workers’ Comp.

Cessante is a member in Clark Hill's Labor & Employment Practice Group and represents employers in a variety of labor and employment litigation matters in both state and federal court. He has experience with matters involving all types of claims under state and federal employment discrimination statutes, family and medical leave laws and traditional labor disputes. In addition to litigation matters, Dave counsels employers in day-to-day labor and employment matters.

Osadetz represents employers in a variety of litigation matters in both state and federal court, including claims involving employment discrimination, family/medical leave and wage and hour issues. She also represents employers before numerous administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and the Department of Labor.
