Clark Hill Attorney William Kohler Elected Board Member of the Council of Great Lakes Industries

– Clark Hill Attorney William J. Kohler has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Council of Great Lakes Industries.

The Council of Great Lakes Industries (CGLI), based in Ann Arbor, is an organization of U.S. and Canadian companies that are committed to the sustainable development of the Great Lakes Basin.

CGLI works with regional stakeholders on a number of environmental policy initiatives that benefit from a sustainable development focus. CGLI seeks policy that strives for ecological sustainability, promotes economic progress, and utilizes the water-enriched assets of the Great Lakes Region in ways that support global competitiveness. With approximately one fifth of the world’s fresh water in the Region, water resource sustainability is a vital issue.

William is a member of Clark Hill corporate practice, and leader of the firm’s Automotive and Manufacturing Practice Group. He has extensive domestic and international experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution arrangements, supply arrangements, supplier and customer workouts and bankruptcies, intellectual property arrangements, and general commercial arrangements and corporate matters.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, William served for many years as Vice President and General Counsel of Johnson Controls’ automotive operations in North and South America.
