Clark Hill Attorney William J. Kohler to Present at Driving Intelligent Mobility in Michigan on April 30, 2014

– Clark Hill attorney William J. Kohler will highlight Intelligent Mobility Opportunities and Roadblocks at the Detroit Regional Chamber’s MICHauto program for Driving Intelligent Mobility in Michigan on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit.

Kohler will evaluate how state and federal laws create opportunities or barriers to the introduction of increasingly automated vehicles. He will analyze legal issues related to automated vehicles, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s intent to regulate automated vehicles, data privacy concerns, state autonomous vehicle laws, cyber security concerns and the allocation of product liability.

Intelligent Transportation Systems are the next wave of innovation to drive the automotive industry, as vehicles are being equipped with technologies and applications to allow drivers to make safer, better coordinated, and smarter use of transport networks. This event will analyze intelligent mobility and project its evolvement into the mainstream consumer marketplace, review potential roadblocks, and discuss Michigan’s role as a leader in the development and marketing of intelligent mobile technology.

Kohler is co-chair of Clark Hill’s Automotive and Manufacturing Practice Group. During his 26-year career in the automotive industry, he has been centrally involved in every major industry development on behalf of automotive suppliers and vehicle manufacturers, including the industry’s most significant mergers and acquisitions, strategic affiliations, major recall and warranty cost allocation disputes, the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies, major supplier disputes, and supplier workout situations.
