Clark Hill Attorney Thomas Sweeney Elected Secretary of the Probate and Estate Planning Council of the State Bar of Michigan
BIRMINGHAM, MI
– Clark Hill Attorney Thomas Sweeney has been elected secretary of the Probate and Estate Planning Council for the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Sweeney will serve a one year term.
Sweeney is a member in Clark Hill’s Birmingham office, and has extensive experience in Federal and State taxation with particular focus on estate and gift taxation, fiduciary and individual income taxation, including planning, return preparation, negotiation with tax authorities and tax litigation. He is actively involved in the planning and administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts, estates, and family limited partnerships and companies including the design and implementation of estate plans, including tax, probate avoidance and investment strategy planning, as well as probate and non-probate administration of estates, trusts, conservatorships and guardianships, trust and estate dispute resolution and other trust and estate fiduciary services.
Sweeney earned both his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Michigan.
