Clark Hill Attorney Steven Richman Participates in International Bar Association Latin America Forum

Steven M. Richman, Senior Counsel in Clark Hill's Litigation and International Legal Services groups, recently participated remotely in the International Bar Association's Biennial Latin America Regional Forum in Rio de Janeiro. Richman was part of a panel on "Revolving door conflicts – the movement of lawyers or groups of lawyers between firms" along with attorneys from the U.S., Peru and Spain. The session covered a number of topics surrounding the movement of lawyers or groups of lawyers between firms including: To whom does the client belong? And the fees? How about the files? Notices to clients: who does it and when? Protecting the client, head hunter liability and compliance obligations that the lawyers must observe was also included.

Richman practices in the areas of domestic and international commercial law, including mediation, litigation and arbitration, and appellate work.

He is a published author including the recent ABA Photography Law Handbook, in addition to numerous articles. He is a frequent CLE lecturer both in this country and around the world.

Richman is President of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation.  He also serves as chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's International Law Committee, and is a member of the editorial board of The New Jersey Law Journal. Within the American Bar Association, Richman is vice-chair of the ABA's Section of International Law, and serves in the ABA House of Delegates.  He co-chairs the Section's Professional Ethics Committee.  Within the International Bar Association, he chairs the IBA's Multidisciplinary Practice Committee, serves on the Bar Issues Commission Policy Committee, and on the advisory council to the IBA's Section on Public and Professional Interest division.

Richman earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and B.A. from Drew University.  He is listed in both Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and California.
