Chicago, IL – Clark Hill attorney Sherry Lowe Johnson has been selected to co-chair the Motor Vehicle Subcommittee of the Equipment, Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA). The Motor Vehicle Subcommittee is comprised of specialized finance and leasing attorneys from private firms, financing/leasing companies, banks, and other financial institutions that serve the trucking and transportation equipment industry. The committee’s functions include analyzing and reporting on state and federal legislation that impacts the industry; tracking and analyzing important decisions from state and federal judicial districts and sharing best practices for handling claims and litigation.

Sherry Lowe Johnson has over 20 years of experience in representing financial institutions, equipment leasing companies, and corporations in commercial matters in state, federal and bankruptcy courts. She specializes in complex litigation, including lender liability claims, fraud claims, programmatic failures, factoring agreements, and commercial contract disputes. She handles all aspects of bankruptcy from the creditor's perspective, including Chapter 11 plan treatment of creditors’ claims, lien priority and competing secured creditors' issues, fraudulent transfers and avoidance claims, critical vendors' claims, and liquidation processes.
