Clark Hill Attorney Sean P. Gallagher Named Ingham County Bar Association 2014 Top 5 Under 35

– Clark Hill Attorney Sean P. Gallagher has been named one of the Ingham County Bar Association’s 2014 Top 5 Under 35. Gallagher will receive the award at the Fifth Annual Barristers Night on Thursday, March 20, 2014. The awards recognize outstanding young lawyers in our community who have distinguished themselves in their relatively short career by manifesting: exemplary character, integrity, judgment and legal scholarship; service to the profession and the bar; service to the community; and a reputation for or the advancement of the highest legal standards and professional responsibility.
As an associate in Clark Hill’s Litigation Practice Group, Gallagher’s practice focuses on commercial disputes. He has litigated numerous contract claims, business torts, constitutional claims, environmental claims, and related discovery issues before state and federal courts. He has particular experience in the area of investment-related litigation involving public pension funds. Gallagher regularly advises clients on matters related to electronic discovery, attorney-client privilege, fiduciary duties, and compliance with statutes and regulations affecting public bodies, including governmental transparency laws such as the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act. Most recently, he served with Clark Hill’s public pension team concerning matters related to the City of Detroit’s Chapter 9 bankruptcy the Local Financial Stability and Choice Act (Act 436 of 2012), and the Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act (Act 4 of 2011).
This Award recognizes Gallagher’s varied community service efforts, which include fundraising for the Junior League of Lansing, coordinating Clark Hill’s Clark Hill Cares volunteer community service efforts in support of the Red Cross Mid-Michigan Food Bank, and volunteering with both the East Lansing Public School District and the Ingham County Bar Association.
