CHICAGO, IL – Russell E. Cass, Member in the Chicago office’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, will present as part of a panel of leading patent and appellate practitioners in the webinar “The Supreme Court Decided Oil States & SAS Institute: Now What?” for the Federal Circuit Bar Association on May 2, 2018. The panel will discuss these recent Supreme Court decisions, examine guidance from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in light of the decisions, and explore the impact of these decisions on the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and district court litigation in the patent area.
Russ has extensive experience litigating patent infringement matters, including trying cases before judges and juries in Federal District Court, handling appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, litigating proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board, and handling disputes before arbitration panels. Russ’s IP practice also encompasses counseling, non-infringement and validity opinions, due diligence investigations, freedom-to-operate analyses, patent portfolio management, and trademark litigation.
