Clark Hill Attorney Robert Tomilson Speaks to Brokers & Reinsurance Markets Association
PHILADELPHIA, PA – On May 12, 2015 Robert Tomilson presented “When is an MGA not an MGA? Brokers, Producers, MGAs and the Uniform Model Act” to the Brokers & Reinsurance Markets Association (BRMA) at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute/The CLE Conference Center in Philadelphia.
Tomilson is a Member in Clark Hill’s Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group. He has been a legal representative and trusted counsel for the insurance and financial services industry for more than 15 years, both in private practice and as in-house counsel at a Fortune 100 insurance company. Tomilson currently represents insurers and reinsurers in their transactions, disputes and regulatory investigations involving property, casualty, life, health, medical stop loss, disability, workers compensation, finite, and annuity risks. These representations have ranged from London-based arbitrations to creating self-insured captives to regulatory investigations in connection with capital and licensing requirements, sufficiency of loss reserves, and private placement and universal indexed life insurance.
Tomilson is an adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at Drexel University School of Law, an adviser to the American Law Institute's Restatement of the Law of Liability Insurance, and was a Fulbright-DAAD scholar in Germany. He has been appointed as a testifying expert in reinsurance disputes and regularly publishes on issues affecting the industry.
