Clark Hill Attorney Richard Chapman Published in the Illinois Manufacturer Magazine, Second Quarter 2018 Edition, “Defend Trade Secrets Act: Use it for Maximum Advantage”

CHICAGO, IL – Richard Chapman, Of Counsel in Clark Hill Chicago’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Practice Groups, was recently published in the Illinois Manufacturer Magazine, Second Quarter 2018 edition.  The article, “Defend Trade Secrets Act: Use it for Maximum Advantage” takes a deeper look into trade secrets, explaining how the Federal Defend Trade Secrets Act can help protect employers’ trade secrets from being stolen, why it’s important to understand what constitutes a trade secret, and how employee agreements must have explicit provisions surrounding trade secret protections.

“To maintain the Act’s protections, employee agreements must be tailored to focus on what is necessary to protect a company’s trade secrets. Courts may not enforce overly broad or general agreements,” wrote Richard.
