Clark Hill Attorney Reginald M. Turner Honored With D. Augustus Straker Bar Association Trailblazer Award
Detroit, MI – The Straker Bar Association will honor Reginald M. Turner, Jr. with its annual Trailblazer Award. The Trailblazer Award honors outstanding individuals who are trailblazers in the legal community. Previous Trailblazer Awards have honored the Honorable Damon J. Keith, the Honorable Dennis W. Archer, the Honorable Julian Abele Cook, the Honorable Anna Diggs Taylor, and former United States Attorney Saul A. Green, to name just a few. The awards dinner is scheduled for June 13.
The Trailblazer Awards Dinner is the marquee event of the Bar Association. In addition to honoring outstanding individuals, it is also used to award scholarships to law students dedicated to public service in Michigan. The D. Augustus Straker Bar Foundation Law Student Scholarships are awarded annually to students who show a commitment to justice and equality and are in need of financial assistance.
Turner is a highly skilled litigator and lobbyist. He is a member of Clark Hill’s Executive Committee, its Government Policy Group and its Labor and Employment Group. Reginald is named in the peer review guides The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers®, and Crain’s Detroit Power Lawyers. He is a past president of the National Bar Association and past president of the State Bar of Michigan. Reginald currently serves as chair of the American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession, and chair of the ABA House of Delegates Committee on Credentials and Admissions. He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor reserved to less than 1 percent of lawyers in each state.
