Clark Hill Attorney Ray J. Koenig III to Present at the 55th Annual IICLE® Estate Planning Short Course

Clark Hill Attorneys Ray J. Koenig III and Mary C. Downie are both involved with the prestigious two-day seminar offered by IICLE®. The seminar will take place on Thursday & Friday, April 26-27, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago.

Koenig will be a speaker at the two-day seminar (Representing Trust & Estate Beneficiaries – as a co -presenter) and will discuss issues arising when representing beneficiaries of trusts and estates including such things as (a) silence or secrecy of the fiduciary; (b) accounting discrepancies; (c) disputes with other beneficiaries; (d) reforming a trust instrument; (e) injuries sustained by breaches of fiduciary duty; (f) beneficiaries with disabilities; (g) minor beneficiaries (h) powers of attorney and guardianships for beneficiaries; (i) personal property divisions and distributions; (j) recovering fees from the estate or trust; (k) virtual representation agreements; and other common issues.

Downie will serve as a Moderator throughout the seminar.

Koenig has extensive trial, appellate and mediation experience in state and federal courts.

Downie is a Member in Clark Hill’s Personal Legal Services practice group, working in the firm’s Chicago office. She concentrates her practice in sophisticated estate and tax planning, complex estate and trust administration, advising owners of closely held businesses, tax controversy matters, and estate and trust litigation. Downie is a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, the preeminent organization of trust & estate planning attorneys in the country.
