Clark Hill Attorney P. Douglas Folk to Present at the APLS Annual Conference – April 10
PHOENIX, AZ –
Clark Hill Attorney P. Douglas Folk will present two sessions at the Arizona Professional Land Surveyors Association (APLS) Annual Conference on Thursday, April 10. The conference will be held from April 10-12, 2014 at the Tucson Marriott University Park in Tucson, Arizona.
Folk will be presenting “News from the State Board of Technical Registration,” reporting on the Board of Technical Registration’s regulation of land surveyors. The Board is evaluating the need for changes in the statutes, rules, substantive policy statements, and minimum standards for boundary surveys to bring the regulation of land surveying in line with current professional practice and public needs. He will also present “Elements of a Boundary Line Agreement,” which will examine the use of boundary line agreements to resolve uncertainties about the true location of a property line. The legal requirements of an enforceable boundary line agreement, its effectiveness in resolving or avoiding claims of adverse possession, and its relationship to other tools for quieting title are discussed in the course of this program.
APLS represents over 600 members throughout the State of Arizona, and is recognized as the unified voice of the Arizona surveying profession. APLS is comprised of 8 regional affiliated organizations, and is an affiliate of the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
