Clark Hill Attorney Karolien M. Vandenberghe Receives German American Chamber Of Commerce Of Philadelphia Member Of The Year Award

Clark Hill attorney Karolien M. Vandenberghe has been honored by the German American Chamber of Commerce of Philadelphia as their Member of the Year 2013 in recognition of her contributions in the development of a continuing legal education program for the Chamber.

Vandenberghe received the award from Dr. Michael Blank, Vice President of the German American Chamber of Commerce of New York, at the organization’s annual gala on November 22, 2013.

Vandenberghe was recognized for spear-heading the Chamber’s new Continuing Legal Education Program. Since the Program’s launch in May 2013, the Chamber has organized three events on Trade Sanctions; Comprehensive Immigration Reform—co-sponsored with the Irish Immigration Center of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section; and Players, Management, and Sports Law—co-sponsored with the Brehon Law Society. Since becoming chair of the Chamber’s committee on continuing legal education in April 2013, Vandenberghe has worked to involve speakers, partner sponsors, and attract new member companies in the process.

Vandenberghe is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the University of Antwerp. Qualified to practice in Belgium and Pennsylvania, Vandenberghe focuses her practice on International Trade and Customs. In addition, she is part of the Clark Hill Insurance and Reinsurance Group.

The German American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia offers networking opportunities and builds relationships between American and German companies. The GACC Philadelphia is part of an international network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) with 120 offices in 80 countries around the globe. For twenty-four years, GACC Philadelphia has promoted business relations between the United States and Germany.
