Clark Hill attorney Joseph B. Urban will speak to the Michigan Association of School Administrators regarding
Public School Project Capital Funding Options, Experiences and Limitations
on October 30, 2008.
The presentation will focus on case studies of successful experiences with novel approaches to funding capital improvements and will feature James Edoff of Fanning Howey Associates, Architects, as well as Tom Owczarek, president of the Fitzgerald Public Schools Board of Education as fellow-panelists.
Joseph B. Urban
is a Senior Attorney with Clark Hill’s
Birmingham
office, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal finance, education law, and real estate law.
Mr. Urban has represented
Michigan
school district and municipal clients, as well as private entities providing financing to these organizations for over a decade. He has extensive experience in municipal and school finance, regularly serving as bond and underwriter’s counsel for school districts, public school academies, and other governmental units as well as counseling them in the acquisition and disposition of real property.
With respect to education law, Mr. Urban regularly counsels school districts and public school academies in the operational issues involved in administering educational organizations, including compliance with the Revised School Code, the Open Meetings Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and other laws governing public bodies.
