Clark Hill Attorney John Schomberg to Present to Illinois Governor’s Legal Team and State of Illinois General Counsels

Chicago, IL – Clark Hill Attorney John Schomberg will serve on a panel of former General Counsels to Illinois Governors, presenting to Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s legal team and the general counsel’s for the State of Illinois’ agencies, boards, and commissions on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  The panel will be moderated by Governor Rauner’s general counsel, Jason Barclay.

Schomberg is a Senior Counsel in Clark Hill’s Government & Public Affairs Practice Group, based in Chicago.  Prior to joining Clark Hill, Schomberg served as General Counsel to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn from 2010 to 2015.  As the lead attorney for the fifth largest state with over 50,000 employees and a $55+ billion budget, Schomberg managed several hundred attorneys at the State’s agencies, boards, and commissions.

With more than 15 years of experience as a high-level government attorney and litigator, Schomberg represents and provides strategic counsel to corporations, organizations, governments, and individuals.  He principally focuses his practice on complex state and local regulatory and litigation matters, regulatory compliance, and investigations.  Schomberg is an expert at understanding and navigating government regulatory processes, including state and local procurements, having both seen and overseen them from the government perspective.  He has also responded to, overseen, conducted, and represented witnesses in all levels of government investigations, including working with U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the FBI, the SEC, and federal, state, and local inspectors general.  Having previously managed and directed legal experts across state government, he is a seasoned problem solver and crisis manager, able to tap into and manage the right attorneys to address any issue.
