Clark Hill attorney John L. Hines, Jr. will present on a CLE panel entitled “The Legal Issues of Social Media: It’s Complicated,” hosted by the Northwestern Law Alumni Club of Chicago on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. in the Baldwin Auditorium at Northwestern’s Chicago campus.

Hines is part of a panel that will discuss various legal and ethical issues that arise from the use of social media, including privacy, copyright infringement, intellectual property rights, and online defamation.

Hines is a member at Clark Hill PLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of Internet law and e-commerce, information management, and technology licensing. He regularly counsels clients on privacy and data security compliance, document-retention policies and practices, reputation management and social media. He has taught courses in Internet law and Intellectual Property at Northwestern University School of Law; he also lectures and writes regularly on legal issues related to speech, technology, and the online environment.
