CHICAGO, IL – Clark Hill attorney John L. Hines, Jr., presented at the Cloud Security Alliance Congress 2013, held December 4-5 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Hines spoke on, “Purchasing Cloud Services: Anatomy of a Cloud Transaction.” His session covered the following topics:
- Mapping your selection of cloud services to your context.
- The diligence process: security, privacy, redundancy, geography/jurisdiction, service levels.
- Negotiating the contact: reps and warranties, renewal, limits of liability, SLA’s, security breach, redundancy and disaster recovery, location of servers, special problems with multi-national companies.
- Minimizing the transaction costs in the contracting process and creating contracts that are fair and “in market.”
