Clark Hill Attorney Joel D. Applebaum will participate as a speaker and panel coordinator at this year’s American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Central States Conference.
The ABI conference will take place June 12-15
in Traverse City, MI.
The panel will address the treatment of supply contracts and other executory contracts in bankruptcy cases.

Joel D. Applebaum
is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Practice Group, concentrating his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy-related litigation and appeals.
He has broad experience representing debtors, creditors’ committees, customers, trade vendors, purchasers of distressed assets, liquidating agents and trustees, among other parties in interest, in Michigan and in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States.
He has argued cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the First, Third, and Sixth Circuits, including
United Food & Commercial Workers Union v. Almac’s, Inc. (In re Almac’s, Inc.)
, 90 F.3d 1 (1st Cir. 1996) and
Bayer Corp. v. MascoTech, Inc. (In re Autostyle Plastics, Inc.)

Mr. Applebaum has authored numerous articles on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights topics for various continuing legal education organizations and the Wayne Law Review, and is a co-author of the chapter on creditors’ committees for the multi-volume bankruptcy treatise entitled “
Chapter 11 Theory and Practice: A Guide to Reorganization
,” published by LRP Publications.
He was selected by Michigan Super Lawyers 2007 and 2008 as a leading attorney in Michigan in his area of expertise.
