Clark Hill Attorney Eric Hocky Receives ATLP Presidential Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA –

Clark Hill is pleased to announce that member Eric M. Hocky has been given the Association of Transportation Law Professionals (ATLP)’s Presidential Award for 2013. He had previously received this honor in 2008 and 2009. Hocky served as President 2009-2010 and has been a Board member since 2005.

The ATLP is an independent nonprofit organization of transportation law professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct in the field. The Association aims to equip members with the necessary resources and education that will allow them to best serve their clients as they face a constantly changing and increasingly global transportation and logistics marketplace.

Hocky is a member in Clark Hill’s Transportation and Logistics industry group and a member of the firm’s General Corporate Practice Group, where he focuses on a variety of transportation and general corporate matters, relating primarily to railroads and their shippers. He has over 25 years of experience representing railroads and other transportation interests throughout the United States on a variety of matters before federal and state regulatory agencies, including the Surface Transportation Board, the Railroad Retirement Board and Federal Railway Administration. Hocky has counseled railroads on real property issues arising from acquisitions, abandonments and transfers, as well as licensing and leasing transactions. He has negotiated a variety of contracts and litigated transportation matters involving a wide range of regulation issues, commercial practices, and disputes and claims on behalf of carriers and freight shippers.

Hocky received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his J.D from Harvard Law School. In addition to his work as an attorney and with the Association of Transportation Law Professionals, Hocky is also an associate member of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, and serves on its General Counsel Committee.
