Clark Hill Attorney David W. Centner named Chair of the Hillman Advocacy Program

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Clark Hill attorney David W. Centner has been named Chair of the Hillman Advocacy Program for 2016 and 2017. Centner has served on the program’s Steering Committee since 2006. The nationally recognized trial advocacy program, now in its 35th year, is sponsored by the West Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Centner, a Member in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, specializes in commercial litigation, including complex commercial disputes, business torts, and creditor’s rights.

Centner served on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan from 2008 to 2012, including serving as Chair during the 2011-2012 term when he led that 2,100 member organization. From 2005 to 2011, he served on the State Bar of Michigan Annual Meeting Committee. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the State Bar of Michigan. Centner is admitted to practice before all Michigan state courts, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Centner has also handled arbitration matters before the American Arbitration Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers, the National Arbitration Forum, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Since 2005, Centner has been a member of the Branch Board of Directors of the David D. Hunting YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.
