Clark Hill Attorney David Ries To Speak at the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation’s 36th Annual Institute - June 17, 2015
PITTSBURGH, PA – Clark Hill Attorney David G. Ries will be speaking at the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation’s 36th Annual Institute at Amelia Island, Florida on June 22, 2015. He will serve on a panel, Current Issues in Legal Ethics, that will explore ethics considerations in discovery, investigations, and social media, using a hypothetical lawsuit involving hydraulic fracturing.
Ries focuses his practice in the areas of environmental, commercial and technology law and litigation. His environmental practice over the last 40 years has included a broad range of issues in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including CERCLA litigation, Clean Water Act litigation, solid and hazardous waste issues, Clean Air Act litigation, storage tank litigation, wet weather consent orders, court and administrative challenges to regulatory programs, and defense of enforcement actions. His technology practice has included a variety of litigation matters, including major systems implementation disputes, and advising clients on a number of technology law issues such as data privacy and security, hardware, software, and cloud services agreements, information governance, e-discovery, and electronic contracting.
The EMLF is a national nonprofit educational organization, which fosters the study of the laws and regulations related to natural resource development and energy use. Ries is a Trustee and Past President of the EMLF and a recipient of its John L. McClaugherty Award for distinguished service to the legal profession, the natural resources industry, and the EMLF.
