Haran C. Rashes received his B.G.S. Degree from the University of Michigan in 1988, his M.B.A. from Eastern Michigan University in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1997. While attending law school, he was Note & Comment Editor and Technology Editor for the University of Toledo Law Review. At graduation, Haran was presented with the University of Toledo College of Law Dean’s Award for School Service. Haran practices in Clark Hill’s Lansing Office, where his practice focuses on administrative and regulatory matters before state and federal agencies. He maintains a specific interest in telecommunications, the Internet, and public utilities law. Haran is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and before the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. Prior to joining Clark Hill, Haran was an Internet consultant and trainer with Merit Network, Inc. At Merit, his responsibilities included technical training and course design for schools, colleges and libraries throughout Michigan. He was a frequent speaker on Internet issues affecting schools and libraries at state, national and international conferences. Haran is the author of “The Impact of Telecommunications Competition and the Telecommunications Act of 1996 on Internet Service Providers,” published in the Spring 1997 edition of the Temple Environmental Law and Technology Journal, “The Kiryas Joel Village School District and the Separation of Shul, School and State,” published in the Spring 1998 edition of University of Toledo Law Review, “Rulings on Rulemaking Through Orders and Contested Case Proceedings”, published in the November 2006 edition of the Michigan Bar Journal. Haran is President of Beth Israel Congregation in Ann Arbor and past-President of the Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw County. He is a USA Swimming/Michigan Swimming Stroke and Turn Judge official. Haran is also a Girl Scout Trainer for the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Council and is a Merit Badge Counselor and a Troop Committee Secretary for a Boy Scout Troop in the Great Sauk Trail Council.
