Aaron O. Matthews is a member in Clark Hill's Lansing office and focuses his practice in the areas of commercial law and litigation, corporate and business law, regulatory and licensure matters, appellate proceedings, real estate matters, and environmental law and litigation.

Aaron has litigation experience in a broad range of areas including contractual disputes, account collection, environmental matters, construction (commercial, residential, and governmental), landlord/tenant and real property disputes, negotiable instruments and Uniform Commercial Code matters, shareholder and limited liability company member disputes, and administrative agency matters.  A graduate of the prestigious IADC Trial Academy, he regularly appears before both state and federal tribunals throughout the country, and has conducted numerous bench and jury trials.  In addition to his extensive experience at the trial court level, Aaron is also a seasoned appellate practitioner, having authored and argued numerous briefs and motions before appellate tribunals.

With respect to corporate and business law, Aaron regularly assists clients with the formation and dissolution of corporations and limited liability companies and provides counseling with respect to company governance and management, and has been a guest lecturer on these topics at the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.  He also routinely advises and assists business clients in all forms and stages of contractual matters, from negotiation and formation through breach and termination.

Aaron also has significant experience in regulatory, real estate, and environmental matters, including the licensure and regulation of insurance and financial entities, environmental compliance and remediation, property disputes and transactions, and oil, gas, and mineral rights transactions and disputes.

Originally from Indiana, Aaron is extremely committed to and active in the greater Lansing community, and serves as an officer and director of several area nonprofits, including the Old Town Commercial Association, the Grand River Connection, and the Round Lake Environmental Corporation.  In 2007, he was recognized as one of mid-Michigan's top young professionals, receiving one of the inaugural "10 Over the Next 10" awards, which are presented by the Lansing Regional Chamber, the Greater Lansing Business Monthly, and the Grand River Connection to showcase ten area professionals who, over the next ten years, will continue to contribute significantly to the Lansing community and will become business leaders.
