William B. Dunn serves as "Of Counsel" in Clark Hill's Real Estate Practice Group. He specializes in real property, secured transactions and related business practice, as well as legal ethics and professional responsibility. Over his long and active career, Bill has been, and continues to be, routinely involved in a broad spectrum of sophisticated real estate and commercial transactions. He works extensively in lending, foreclosures and workouts, leasing, acquisitions and sales as well as development activities, and represents public bodies, developers and end users of real estate.
He is a recognized authority in the area of legal opinions in business transactions, and has served as chair of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estates Law committees on that subject. He is a frequent lecturer at national, regional and statewide programs on various aspects of secured financing. In addition, his activity in the area of legal ethics and professional responsibility has led to speaking and consulting engagements, and to his service as expert witness.
Among his many professional achievements is Presidency of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Chair of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estates Law Section, Chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional responsibility and of the State Bar of Michigan Professional Ethics Committee. He served as the Real Estate Services practice group leader at the Firm until becoming Counsel to the Firm. William has been selected for listing in The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialty of Real Estate Law for more than 20 years, and is named as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Michigan. He is also ranked as a Band One real estate lawyer in Chambers USA Leading Business Lawyers.
