DETROIT, MICH. – Clark Hill attorney Michael Nowlan received the President’s Commendation from the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for his outstanding leadership as chair of the National Business Committee. The President’s Commendations – reserved for those individuals who greatly contributed to the success of the acting President – was announced at the AILA Annual Meeting in Tennessee, June 14.

Nowlan is the co-leader of Clark Hill’s Immigration Practice Group. He represents a variety of entities as they prepare for U.S. entry, including Fortune 100 and 500 companies, scientists and engineers, religious institutions, business executives and entrepreneurs, and other professionals and their families. Nowlan’s expertise includes nonimmigrant visas, and permanent residence and naturalization processes. He is an advocate for immigrant rights on a regional and national level, and he has published a number of articles on the topic. In addition to his President’s Commendation, Nowlan was recognized for professional achievement in immigration law by Who’s Who Legal – Corporate Immigration, as well as Best Lawyers in America and dBusiness magazine.
