Clark Hill attorney Joseph C. Rudolf and Labor & Employment and Real Estate Practice Groups Director Paul W. Boehms were quoted in The Legal Intelligencer regarding law firms now looking to nonattorneys to fill more specialized roles. 

The Legal Intelligencer reports that while law firm support staff hiring has generally decreased, there has been an increase in the hiring of nonattorneys with specialized skills such as marketing, business development, administration, and industry specific expertise. Rudolf has practiced exclusively in labor and employment law since 1985.  He has devoted a significant portion of his time to the public sector/management side and has represented more than 400 Pennsylvania public employers. Rudolf has served as arbitrator and presenter in more than 100 Act 111 interest arbitrations and has represented employers in a wide array of proceedings, including grievance arbitrations, Police Tenure Act Hearings, Civil Service Hearings, and Heart and Lung Act Hearings. On a regular basis, he advises public sector clients on a range of issues involving municipal pensions, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Act (PLRA), Act 195, as well as the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA), Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).

Boehms is responsible for the daily operation of the firm’s Labor & Employment and Real Estate Practice Groups as well as strategic planning, business development, recruiting and retention.
