Clark Hill West Michigan Attorney Barbara A. Ruga to Present at the Winter Conference of the Michigan Association of School Personnel Administrators, November 29

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Attorney Barbara A. Ruga, of Clark Hill’s Grand Rapids office, will be presenting at the Winter Conference of the Michigan Association of School Personnel Administrators (MASPA) on November 29, 2012. She will be presenting “Placement, Layoff, & Discrimination: Dealing with the New Rules!!!”.

Ruga has over 35 years of experience advising and counseling public school districts and other public and private employers on a wide variety of labor law and employment issues, as well as extensive knowledge and experience negotiating teacher contracts in the context of scarce resources. She has presented for other notable organizations, including the Michigan Negotiators Association, Administrators, the Michigan Association of School Boards and the Michigan School Business Officials.

MASPA is the statewide organization that serves and represents human resources professionals in education. Their mission is to advocate on behalf of the personnel and/or human resource function, work to enhance member professional growth, actively support diversification of the work force, serve as a resource agency, and promote the highest standard of personal and professional conduct and professional ethics to ensure quality instruction and service to Michigan students.
